Joseph Mahowald recently finished playing the title roles of Jekyll/Hyde in "Jekyll & Hyde" on Broadway. He also played on Broadway as Enjolras, the  Student Leader, in "Les Miserables" and he originated the role of Aaron James in Mike Reid and Sarah Schlesinger's  opera, "Different Fields", Ace  Gruver in William Luce's "Sayonara" as well as Captain Phoebus in Dennis DeYoung's (Styxx) adaptation of  Victor Hugo's "The Hunchback of Notre  Dame".

    Off-Broadway he played The Aviator in "The Little Prince" and Haemon in "Antigone".

    His National  tours include Lancelot in "Camelot" with Stacy Keach, "A Grand Night For Singing" and Ace Gruver in "Sayonara".

    He's been a featured soloist at Carnegie Hall and has sung with the City of  London Philharmonic, the St. Louis symphony and at the Kennedy Center with the National Symphony Orchestra as well as several other major symphonies across the country. Joe was also a part of Michael McGuire's "Bravo Broadway."

    Joe's voice is heard in the Disney film, Mulan. He portrayed the role of Jason Gwynn on NBC daytime in Another World and can be seen on PBS in the series Front Row Center, a musical theatre spotlight. He was a founding member of the artistic company of Tennessee Repertory Theatre and is a graduate, Magna Cum Laude, of the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. He and his wife, Elizabeth, are the adoring parents of their children, Molly and Patrick.
